Just an update on the book. Hopefully it should be finished for the end of January. One independant publishing company is looking at some snippets and a basic synopsis I have sent to them so we’ll see. Not heard anything back yet but this is their busiest time. Just one lot of interviews to go and then all systems go. Lets get it finished and go from there. More news soon, hopefully good.

Damned Poster Dundee Caird Hall

A poster for The Damned and The Irritators at Dundee Caird Hall. This is a signifcant date because Ruts DC had been invited to join the tour by The Damned and this is their first date after the tragic death of Malcolm Owen.

Ruffy

Dave Ruffy; Drummer with The Ruts/Ruts DC, Aztec Camera, Dexy’s, and many others. He was a big influence on me when I first started to play in a band. Although I never matched his profficiency, I learnt my style of Reggae drumming from him. He was the master at playing a fast, hard tempo but with such control it seemed effortless. When we finished the tour with The Damned and The Ruts in 1980 he said that I was the most consistant Irritator! Hopefully he meant my performances rather than my 16 year old personality. A legend and a thoroughly nice bloke. No ego and no edge to him.
